John Wayne Parr begun his journey into the art of Muay Thai at the age of 11 where he practised Taekwondo in Queensland, Australia. John Wayne began training with one of Queensland’s top promoters, Blair Moore where he picked up both an Australian Title and a South Pacific Title before the age of 20. From there, he trained in Thailand for six months gaining confidence at fighting and during this time John Wayne fought at the Lumpinee Stadium and International Stadium and on live TV in Thailand several times. John Wayne won the title of Best WMC Farlung Fighter in 1997, fought in two WMCS1 King’s Birthday events and won the Australian World Muay Thai Council title. He is also ranked in the top ten of the WMC World ranking .John Wayne is an instructor at one of Australia’s leading Muay Thai gyms, Boonchu, where he looks after some forty students and a dozen fighters. |
