Lawrence is a British photographer current residing in Singapore and is The Contender Asia's official still photographer. Within this role, Lawrence has covered everything from the initial promotional images through to every episode's fight shots (which can be found throughout the contenderasia.com). As a photographer, he shoots a diverse range of subjects ranging from sports / action and photojournalism to narrative and portrait photography. His talent for capturing the decisive moment in fight photography coupled with his distinctive style is easily ecognizable and it is perhaps through his new love of Muay Thai that his images may become best known.

Through Lawrence's galleries and his blog, which is a well known instructional and review site , his photos and articles have amassed well in excess of 3 million views in the past 2 years. He was also heavily published in 2007, with images appearing in the Straits Times, Business Times, Asian Geographic, Marketing Interactive, FILE magazine, International Kickboxer Magazine, 8 Days, New Man and of course throughout the contenderasia.com .

Lawrence is the Managing Director of Lawrence Ripsher Photography Pte Ltd and in addition to shooting commissioned projects, also teaches photography workshops. He also owns and runs a successful leading Mobile Technology Software company here in Singapore.

Lawrence graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Computer Science from Birmingham University, UK.
